Travel Plans...

So, for those of you who wish to stay up to date on my travel schedule, here you are:

For the month of February (can you even believe its already February????)

This weekend (M 31-F 2), we have a class trip to Tuscany and Umbria. We will be going to Assisi, Sienna, and Arezzo. We’re really looking forward to the trip & seeing the countryside of Tuscany. Our program leader, Dr. Dawson, is really quite smart in making us go to the smaller towns because it forces us to go to the bigger cities on our own. If we had a class trip to Florence, it would probably be all of Tuscany we would see.

The following weekend (7-9) is a long weekend for me (thank goodness for no Monday classes) but is a questionable one; we might take a short trip to Pisa or Cinque Terre, but haven’t decided yet.

The weekend after ( 14/15) we’re going to Venezia for the biggest weekend of Carnivale! We bought masks while in Florence and are very much looking forward to celebrating the end of meat (which is what carnivale (literally meat goes away) means).

I will probably take a weekend off to relax and do homework and then the next weekend, mia mamma is coming to visit!

March is all pretty much up in the air, but stay posted for exciting events.

Spring Break (March 20-30) has been booked & we’re very much looking forward to a great trip. The schedule is messy, but we’re basically going to: Amsterdam, then taking a nice long relaxing train ride through Belgium to Paris. We’ll go to Dublin and then Prague for about 2 1/2 days, after which we’ll go back to Dublin for about 2 days, then to Oslo for 2 days, then to London for a nice long day and then back to Rome. It seems like it’ll be busy (and it probably will) but we’re really looking forward to exploring Europe.

Anyway, I hope you all are doing well, I’ll have more on whats been going on here soon (after my Italian finals on Thursday & Friday!)

Ciao Ciao.

Bridget, it sounds like a VERY busy schedule --- and a great one! We all envy you, and wish we cold do the same. But your descriptions of it all make it enjoyable for us even if we're not there in person. Happy travels. Love.

wow! Vince and I were just blown away by your visit to Florence and Tuscany (our favorite part of Italy). Your pictures brought back so many happy memories. We are impressed by the amount of climbing you have done - the top of the Duomo! Did you go to the Uffizi Art Gallery? When I went there, as we were leaving, a man walking ahead of me said to his wife "If I see another G-D Madonnna it will be too soon!" That memory has always tickled me.

I ams SO thrilled that your Mom is joining you. You will be the BEST guide ever. What a glorious shared memory. And what wonderful memories you will bring home. I am so happy for you. Enjoy!
love,
G'ma and Vince (He won't let me sign Nanna Boo Boo anymore!)
